Oman and Tanzania are working to enhance their trade and investment ties, seeking to forge stronger business partnerships between the two nations. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently visited Tanzania to meet with government officials, economic institutions, and members of the local business community. These discussions focused on expanding economic cooperation, identifying new investment opportunities, and fostering private-sector partnerships.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Omani ministry, emphasized Tanzania’s significance as an economic partner in East Africa. Oman aims to deepen collaboration in sectors that offer considerable investment potential. The delegation underscored Oman’s strategic advantages, such as its location, infrastructure, and investment incentives, including the Golden Residency Programme, which are designed to attract international investors and support long-term business collaborations.
The meetings also explored the potential for Omani companies to grow their presence in African markets, while simultaneously connecting Tanzanian businesses with investment prospects in Oman. Officials from both countries highlighted the importance of enhancing communication between government entities and private-sector representatives to facilitate joint projects.
This visit is part of Oman’s broader strategy to strengthen its economic partnerships across Africa and build upon its longstanding relations with Tanzania. By leveraging these ties, both countries aim to unlock new opportunities for trade and investment, benefiting businesses and economies on both sides.
