Oman and the United States are exploring avenues to enhance their economic and investment ties, focusing on bolstering trade, promoting Omani exports, and drawing American investments into Oman. This initiative was discussed during a meeting between Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, and representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States, who were visiting Oman.
The discussions highlighted the achievements of the Oman Trade Office, as well as its future plans and the challenges it faces. Key topics included how to increase the accessibility of Omani products in the US market and identify new opportunities for trade cooperation. The dialogue also centered on strategies to attract more American investments to Oman.
Bilateral trade between Oman and the United States has shown significant growth, reaching approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. Oman primarily exports chemicals and aluminum to the US, while the US exports vehicles and transport equipment to Oman.
These discussions underscore a mutual interest in strengthening economic relations and tapping into new sectors of cooperation, potentially leading to increased trade flows and investment opportunities between the two nations.
